Message from the founder of the Security Professionals Forum network:

I must admit that I have a passion about this concept. This passion is derived from my own life experiences and perhaps more to the point, the lack of some experiences.
I like many of you have spent huge amounts of time away from family, friends and my community.
I like you have spent huge amounts of time commuting to and from a go nowhere, no future JOB.
I like you have always felt that this was not a life, but merely an existence.
I like you have always wished and prayed that my life could be different.
I LIKE YOU KNOW IT CAN BE DIFFERENT!
The questions are always the same for everyone thinking about a career working from home, i.e., HOW can I have security. HOW can I take care of myself and my family? HOW can I change my life? All of these HOW’s and more stand in the way of our ever DOING.
The truth is that in order to change ones life, one must always be willing to take a leap of faith and faith in ourselves one of first things that is drummed out of us in modern life.
The answer to these HOW’s is never apparent, but many of us have begun to change our lives and we refuse to turn back.
We refuse to sit in traffic whiling away our lives getting home and being so numbed by work and traffic that we cannot communicate with our loved ones or neighbors.
We who are changing our lives and building new relationships refuse to click on the garage door opener and spend the next 5 years, 10 years and 20 years never knowing who our neighbor is and never dreaming about changing our stars.
Just one last story regarding why creating the Security Professionals Forum is such a passion for me. I love my father, but during the last 15 years of his employment he was forced to drive daily from San Diego to Los Angeles and each day because of his love for his family he endured this hardship. This memory fuels my passion. I know that with the technologies which are available to us today, that no family should ever have to suffer this indignity to their lives and the inherent strains on their familial community. If you agree with me please join us. I guarantee you that it will not be easy to change your life, but it will be both fun and fulfilling!
As I write this message I am sitting in my home here in Chiang Mai Thailand, my offices and staff are just down the hall and my 5 year old son’s bedroom is located inside our sprawling master bedroom suite. Our other home is in San Diego California. No more commuting, no more lost moments, no more regrets in my life. It is my fervent wish that each and every one of the members of the Security Professionals Forum can have their dreams fulfilled too.
